Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider to join a very busy Neurosurgical practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital.
Responsibilities
Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient’s medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries, noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
Complete pre-op and post-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising Physicians to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
Collaborate with supervising physician to ensure quality of care
Work closely with nurses to triage patient needs and referral coordinators to ensure proper scheduling
Rotate weeknight, weekend, and holiday call with the other APP’s. Take call with Physician.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master’s in Nursing Required or
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board Required
Work Experience
1+ years of Neurosurgical experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
PA - Physician Assistant Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia. Updated NCCPA for PA’s Upon Hire Required or
ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, WHNP) Upon Hire Required
