Responsible for coordinating the surgical process from scheduling through the day of surgery, serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, insurance companies, and surgical teams. Duties include scheduling procedures and peer-to-peer reviews, obtaining surgical clearances and insurance authorizations, submitting medical records, managing denials and appeals, coordinating special surgical needs and pre-op appointments, and educating patients on preparation and expectations. Reviews physician documentation, diagnoses, and procedure codes to support authorization requirements; assists patients with financial resources; manages incoming faxes; and communicates with the PCC and other internal and external partners to ensure a seamless surgical experience.
