The Genetic Counselor provides genetic counseling, test coordination, and follow-up for patients in the Piedmont Heart Institute. The incumbent supports referring providers & clinical team, provides genetics education and outreach, and engages in genetics program activities.

Education

• Master’s Degree Genetic Counseling or equivalent program from an ABGC or ABMG accredited training program Required

Work Experience

• 1 year genetic counseling experience required
• Work experience in cardiology and/or clinical genetic counseling preferred
• Experience with Epic and Progeny software preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• ABGC - American Board of Genetic Counseling Board Certified in Genetic Counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling Upon Hire Required and
• Genetic Counselor License for the State of Georgia Upon Hire Required
