Responsibilities

Plans, directs and monitors all financial, operational, professional and clinical activities of the Pharmacy. Leads the medication management function. Ensures that all clinical staff across the hospital is aligning optimally with medical staff for effective, safe and efficient medication management of patients. The director of pharmacy is responsible for all drug storage, procurement, and preparation in the hospital. The director of pharmacy ensures that the pharmacy provides optimal services, meets all legal, accreditation and certification requirements, and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the hospital. Develops and directs a patient-oriented pharmacy service which ensures safe, effective and rational use of drugs. Develops, directs and/or participates in quality assurance and continues quality improvement programs within the pharmacy department and institution.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited ACPE school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Pharmacy Required
  • Master’s Degree Preferred

Work Experience

  • 5 years Hospital pharmacy work experience which includes at least five (5) years at a supervisory level Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia. Upon Hire Required
