Overview
Provides support to the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory by performing all technical aspects of specimen receipt, assessment and pre-analytical processing. Performs accurate and timely functions related to the receipt of laboratory specimen including patient registration, specimen processing, sample quality assessment, troubleshooting and test ordering based on specific clinical pathways. Also performs detailed data entry, instrument maintenance and quality assurance, customer service and organizational tasks necessary for the efficient function of the laboratory.

Qualifications
Education- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Associate’s Degree of Science from an accredited college in Medical Technology, related science, or clinical discipline Preferred
Work Experience- Working knowledge of clinical laboratory and tests performed Required
Licenses and Certifications- None Required
- MLS - Medical Lab Scientist (Formally MT Certification) Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician certification Preferred
