Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:
With a focus on Supply Chain Operations, this position works with other Supply Chain leaders and leadership from around the system on strategies and business processes to fully optimize operations and is the implementation of strategic programs to improve and maintain high service levels, effectively manage cost and support cost reduction activities. Collaborate with all divisions of Piedmont’s Supply Chain organization to implement programs at department, hospital, and/or manufacturer level to drive supply chain efficiencies. Provides leadership and strategic direction for the 300 FTEs across the system that are responsible for but not limited to; warehousing, logistics, purchasing, hospital operations, and other value-add opportunities to utilize assets to reduce costs and/or improve services to Piedmont Healthcare entities. This position directs operational objectives, budgetary management, personnel performance, process improvement, and technology advancement. Oversees the supply chain functions for all 27 of Piedmont hospitals, the supply chain support for 300 plus non-hospital locations, operations at and strategies related to the PHC Distribution Center and the associated $200 million in inventory across the system. Supports and carries out system strategies and processes assuring that changes and operational procedures are consistent and aligned with Supply Chain goals to support the Piedmont mission. Assures common productivity and quality requirements are in place at all facilities. Applies, and assures sound financial performance for assigned cost centers. Acts as a change agent to improve supply chain operations.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures efficient delivery of products across all entities to meet operational needs, while providing for business growth, financial objectives, and safety, quality, and patient care goals.
2. Oversee all Purchasing and related product and capital equipment acquisition activities
3. Assesses, recommends and implements changes within supply chain operations.
4. Coordinate the operations and integration of demand planning, inventory management, order placement and fulfillment, warehouse operations, and information systems.
5. Ensures compliance and effective us of Supply Chain ERP, GHX and other associated systems and technologies related to efficient automation of supply chain activities for all entities.
6. Assists Chief Supply Chain and Project Management Officer to achieve corporate, strategic and operational goals and standards.
7. Operationalizes the strategic direction of Piedmont Healthcare’s supply chain management processes.
8. Presents and/or disseminates information to management personnel and others at assigned facilities.
9. Assures sound financial performance and reporting for all site assigned and applicable DC operations.
10. Acts as a liaison between assigned hospitals’ interest and corporate interests.
11. Ensures that the Distribution Center is functioning in a way that consistently meets the needs of PHC facilities and does so in financially responsible manor.
12. Ensure team members understand and are accountable to Supply Chain systems and processes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field is required.
In lieu of degree, six (6) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Ten (10) years of progressively responsible work experience in supply chain management, with significant experience in healthcare systems, including supervisory/leadership experience, is required.
(If no degree, a total of sixteen (16) years of experience required.)
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Healthcare supply chain experience is preferred.
